EXAMPLES
  OF FAITH
  1-AN ANGEL
APPEARS TO JOSEPH IN A DREAM

Mt 1:18-21,24,25-NOW THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST WAS ON THIS WISE: WHEN AS HIS
MOTHER MARY WAS ESPOUSED TO JOSEPH, BEFORE THEY CAME TOGETHER, SHE WAS FOUND
WITH CHILD OF THE HOLY GHOST.
     THEN JOSEPH HER HUSBAND, BEING
A JUST MAN, AND NOT WILLING TO MAKE HER A PUBLICK EXAMPLE, WAS MINDED TO PUT
  HER AWAY PRIVILY.
BUT WHILE HE THOUGHT ON THESE
THINGS, BEHOLD, THE ANGEL OF THE LORD APPEARED UNTO HIM IN A DREAM, SAYING,
JOSEPH, THOU SON OF DAVID, FEAR NOT TO TAKE UNTO THEE MARY THY WIFE: FOR THAT
WHICH IS CONCEIVED IN HER IS OF THE HOLY GHOST.
AND SHE SHALL BRING FORTH A
SON, AND THOU SHALT CALL HIS NAME JESUS: FOR HE SHALL SAVE HIS PEOPLE FROM THEIR
  SINS.
     THEN JOSEPH BEING RAISED FROM
SLEEP DID AS THE ANGEL OF THE LORD HAD BIDDEN HIM, AND TOOK UNTO HIM HIS WIFE:
AND KNEW HER NOT TILL SHE HAD
BROUGHT FORTH HER FIRSTBORN SON: AND HE CALLED HIS NAME JESUS.
An angel of the Lord appeared
to Joseph in a dream. He believed what the angel had spoken. He obeyed the angel.
  This is faith.

Mk 1:40-42-AND THERE CAME A LEPER TO HIM (Jesus), BESEECHING HIM, AND KNEELING
DOWN TO HIM, AND SAYING UNTO HIM, IF THOU WILT, THOU CANST MAKE ME CLEAN.
     AND JESUS, MOVED WITH COMPASSION,
PUT FORTH HIS HAND, AND TOUCHED HIM, AND SAITH UNTO HIM, I WILL; BE THOU CLEAN.
AND AS SOON AS HE HAD SPOKEN,
IMMEDIATELY THE LEPROSY DEPARTED FROM HIM, AND HE WAS CLEANSED.
The leper came to Jesus. This
  is faith.
3-THEY
LET THE BED DOWN THROUGH THE ROOF

Mk 2:1-5,11-AND AGAIN HE (Jesus) ENTERED INTO CAPERNAUM AFTER SOME DAYS; AND
IT WAS NOISED THAT HE WAS IN THE HOUSE.
     AND STRAIGHTWAY MANY WERE GATHERED
TOGETHER, INSOMUCH THAT THERE WAS NO ROOM TO RECEIVE THEM, NO, NOT SO MUCH AS
ABOUT THE DOOR: AND HE PREACHED THE WORD UNTO THEM.
AND THEY COME UNTO HIM, BRINGING
ONE SICK OF THE PALSY, WHICH WAS BORNE OF FOUR.
AND WHEN THEY COULD NOT COME
NIGH UNTO HIM FOR THE PRESS, THEY UNCOVERED THE ROOF WHERE HE WAS: AND WHEN
THEY HAD BROKEN IT UP, THEY LET DOWN THE BED WHEREIN THE SICK OF THE PALSY LAY.
     WHEN JESUS SAW THEIR FAITH,
HE SAID UNTO THE SICK OF THE PALSY, SON, THY SINS BE FORGIVEN THEE.
I SAY UNTO THEE, ARISE, AND
TAKE UP THY BED, AND GO THY WAY INTO THINE HOUSE.
     Those that had brought the
sick of the palsy had so much faith that they broke up and uncovered the roof,
so that they could let down the bed of the sick person. They were fully persuaded
that Jesus would heal this sick person.
4-JAIRUS
CAME TO JESUS TO HEAL HIS DAUGHTER

Mk 5:22-24, 35-43-AND, BEHOLD, THERE COMETH ONE OF THE RULERS OF THE SYNAGOGUE,
JAIRUS BY NAME; AND WHEN HE SAW HIM, HE FELL AT HIS FEET,
     AND BESOUGHT HIM GREATLY, SAYING,
MY LITTLE DAUGHTER LIETH AT THE POINT OF DEATH: I PRAY THEE, COME AND LAY THY
HANDS ON HER, THAT SHE MAY BE HEALED; AND SHE SHALL LIVE.
     AND JESUS WENT WITH HIM.
And THERE CAME FROM THE RULER
OF THE SYNAGOGUE'S HOUSE CERTAIN WHICH SAID, THY DAUGHTER IS DEAD: WHY TROUBLEST
  THOU THE MASTER ANY FURTHER?
AS SOON AS JESUS HEARD THE
WORD THAT WAS SPOKEN, HE SAITH UNTO THE RULER OF THE SYNAGOGUE, BE NOT AFRAID,
  ONLY BELIEVE.
AND HE SUFFERED NO MAN TO FOLLOW
HIM, SAVE PETER, AND JAMES, AND JOHN THE BROTHER OF JAMES.
AND HE COMETH TO THE HOUSE
OF THE RULER OF THE SYNAGOGUE, AND SEETH THE TUMULT, AND THEM THAT WEPT AND
  WAILED GREATLY.
AND WHEN HE WAS COME IN, HE
SAITH UNTO THEM, WHY MAKE YE THIS ADO, AND WEEP? THE DAMSEL IS NOT DEAD,
  BUT SLEEPETH.
     AND THEY LAUGHED HIM TO
SCORN. BUT WHEN HE HAD PUT THEM ALL OUT, HE TAKETH THE FATHER AND THE MOTHER
OF THE DAMSEL, AND THEM THAT WERE WITH HIM, AND ENTERETH IN WHERE THE DAMSEL
  WAS LYING.
AND HE TOOK THE DAMSEL BY THE
HAND, AND SAID UNTO HER, TALITHA CUMI; WHICH IS, BEING INTERPRETED, DAMSEL,
  I SAY UNTO THEE, ARISE.
     AND STRAIGHTWAY THE DAMSEL
AROSE, AND WALKED; FOR SHE WAS OF THE AGE OF TWELVE YEARS. AND THEY WERE ASTONISHED
  WITH A GREAT ASTONISHMENT.
     AND HE CHARGED THEM STRAITLY
THAT NO MAN SHOULD KNOW IT; AND COMMANDED THAT SOMETHING SHOULD BE GIVEN HER
  TO EAT.
     Jairus asked Jesus to heal
his daughter, but then a person came saying that she was dead. This person tried
to discourage Jairus. Jesus immediately spoke up, and said, BE NOT AFRAID, ONLY
BELIEVE. Jairus chose to believe Jesus and follow His instructions, rather than
the one that came telling him not to trouble the Master. This is faith.
When they arrived at the house,
Jesus told the people that THE DAMSEL IS NOT DEAD, BUT SLEEPETH; but the people
did not believe Him. They had no faith. THEY LAUGHED. Jesus put all the unbelievers
out and took the father and mother for they had faith. The damsel was healed
by Jesus. Jesus told the parents THAT NO MAN SHOULD KNOW IT.
5-THE
  WOMAN THAT TOUCHED JESUS

Mk 5:24-34-AND MUCH PEOPLE FOLLOWED HIM, AND THRONGED HIM.
     AND A CERTAIN WOMAN, WHICH
HAD AN ISSUE OF BLOOD TWELVE YEARS,
     AND HAD SUFFERED MANY THINGS
OF MANY PHYSICIANS, AND HAD SPENT ALL THAT SHE HAD, AND WAS NOTHING BETTERED,
  BUT RATHER GREW WORSE,
WHEN SHE HAD HEARD OF JESUS,
CAME IN THE PRESS BEHIND, AND TOUCHED HIS GARMENT.
FOR SHE SAID, IF I MAY TOUCH
BUT HIS CLOTHES, I SHALL BE WHOLE. This is faith.
     AND STRAIGHTWAY THE FOUNTAIN
OF HER BLOOD WAS DRIED UP; AND SHE FELT IN HER BODY THAT SHE WAS HEALED OF THAT
  PLAGUE.
     AND JESUS, IMMEDIATELY KNOWING
IN HIMSELF THAT VIRTUE HAD GONE OUT OF HIM, TURNED HIM ABOUT IN THE PRESS, AND
  SAID, WHO TOUCHED MY CLOTHES?
     AND HIS DISCIPLES SAID UNTO
HIM, THOU SEEST THE MULTITUDE THRONGING THEE, AND SAYEST THOU, WHO TOUCHED ME?
AND HE LOOKED ROUND ABOUT TO
SEE HER THAT HAD DONE THIS THING.
BUT THE WOMAN FEARING AND TREMBLING,
KNOWING WHAT WAS DONE IN HER, CAME AND FELL DOWN BEFORE HIM, AND TOLD HIM ALL
  THE TRUTH.
AND HE SAID UNTO HER, DAUGHTER,
THY FAITH HATH MADE THEE WHOLE; GO IN PEACE, AND BE WHOLE OF THY PLAGUE.

Mk 10:46-52-AND THEY CAME TO JERICHO: AND AS HE WENT OUT OF JERICHO WITH HIS
DISCIPLES AND A GREAT NUMBER OF PEOPLE, BLIND BARTIMAEUS, THE SON OF TIMAEUS,
SAT BY THE HIGHWAY SIDE BEGGING.
AND WHEN HE HEARD THAT IT WAS
JESUS OF NAZARETH, HE BEGAN TO CRY OUT, AND SAY, JESUS, THOU SON OF DAVID, HAVE
MERCY ON ME. This is faith.
AND MANY CHARGED HIM THAT HE
SHOULD HOLD HIS PEACE: BUT HE CRIED THE MORE A GREAT DEAL, THOU SON OF DAVID,
HAVE MERCY ON ME. The people that followed Jesus tried to discourage him, but
he continued to cry out in faith.
     AND JESUS STOOD STILL, AND
COMMANDED HIM TO BE CALLED. AND THEY CALL THE BLIND MAN, SAYING UNTO HIM, BE
OF GOOD COMFORT, RISE; HE CALLETH THEE.
AND HE, CASTING AWAY HIS GARMENT,
  ROSE, AND CAME TO JESUS.
     AND JESUS ANSWERED AND SAID
UNTO HIM, WHAT WILT THOU THAT I SHOULD DO UNTO THEE? THE BLIND MAN SAID UNTO
HIM, LORD, THAT I MIGHT RECEIVE MY SIGHT.
AND JESUS SAID UNTO HIM, GO
THY WAY; THY FAITH HATH MADE THEE WHOLE. AND IMMEDIATELY HE RECEIVED HIS SIGHT,
AND FOLLOWED JESUS IN THE WAY. Not only did he have faith to be healed, but
he also had faith to follow Jesus afterwards.

Lk 1:26-35,38-AND IN THE SIXTH MONTH THE ANGEL GABRIEL WAS SENT FROM GOD UNTO
A CITY OF GALILEE, NAMED NAZARETH,
TO A VIRGIN ESPOUSED TO A MAN
WHOSE NAME WAS JOSEPH, OF THE HOUSE OF DAVID; AND THE VIRGIN'S NAME WAS MARY.
AND THE ANGEL CAME IN UNTO
HER, AND SAID, HAIL, THOU THAT ART HIGHLY FAVOURED, THE LORD IS WITH THEE: BLESSED
  ART THOU AMONG WOMEN.
AND WHEN SHE SAW HIM, SHE WAS
TROUBLED AT HIS SAYING, AND CAST IN HER MIND WHAT MANNER OF SALUTATION THIS
  SHOULD BE.
AND THE ANGEL SAID UNTO HER,
FEAR NOT, MARY: FOR THOU HAST FOUND FAVOUR WITH GOD.
     AND, BEHOLD, THOU SHALT CONCEIVE
IN THY WOMB, AND BRING FORTH A SON, AND SHALT CALL HIS NAME JESUS.
HE SHALL BE GREAT, AND SHALL
BE CALLED THE SON OF THE HIGHEST: AND THE LORD GOD SHALL GIVE UNTO HIM THE THRONE
  OF HIS FATHER DAVID:
AND HE SHALL REIGN OVER THE
HOUSE OF JACOB FOR EVER; AND OF HIS KINGDOM THERE SHALL BE NO END.
THEN SAID MARY UNTO THE ANGEL,
HOW SHALL THIS BE, SEEING I KNOW NOT A MAN? Mary did not doubt what the angel
said. She believed. She only wondered how this would come about.
     AND THE ANGEL ANSWERED AND
SAID UNTO HER, THE HOLY GHOST SHALL COME UPON THEE, AND THE POWER OF THE HIGHEST
SHALL OVERSHADOW THEE: THEREFORE ALSO THAT HOLY THING WHICH SHALL BE BORN OF
THEE SHALL BE CALLED THE SON OF GOD.
AND MARY SAID, BEHOLD THE HANDMAID
OF THE LORD; BE IT UNTO ME ACCORDING TO THY WORD. AND THE ANGEL DEPARTED FROM
HER. Mary had faith. She doubted not.
8-ELIZABETH
ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THE UNBORN CHILD IS HER LORD

Lk 1:39-43-AND MARY AROSE IN THOSE DAYS, AND WENT INTO THE HILL COUNTRY WITH
  HASTE, INTO A CITY OF JUDA;
     AND ENTERED INTO THE HOUSE
  OF ZACHARIAS, AND SALUTED ELISABETH.
AND IT CAME TO PASS, THAT,
WHEN ELISABETH HEARD THE SALUTATION OF MARY, THE BABE LEAPED IN HER WOMB; AND
ELISABETH WAS FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST:
AND SHE SPAKE OUT WITH A LOUD
VOICE, AND SAID, BLESSED ART THOU AMONG WOMEN, AND BLESSED IS THE FRUIT OF THY
  WOMB.
AND WHENCE IS THIS TO ME, THAT
THE MOTHER OF MY LORD SHOULD COME TO ME?
     Here is Elizabeth speaking
of the child that was still in the womb of Mary. Yet with faith she speaks out,
acknowledging that this unborn child was her LORD. This is faith.
9-SIMEON
  BELIEVES THE WORD OF GOD

  Lk 2:25-30-AND, BEHOLD, THERE WAS A MAN IN JERUSALEM, WHOSE NAME WAS SIMEON;
AND THE SAME MAN WAS JUST AND DEVOUT, WAITING FOR THE CONSOLATION OF ISRAEL:
AND THE HOLY GHOST WAS UPON HIM.
AND IT WAS REVEALED UNTO HIM
BY THE HOLY GHOST, THAT HE SHOULD NOT SEE DEATH, BEFORE HE HAD SEEN THE LORD'S
CHRIST. He was fully persuaded that this was true. Here is faith.
AND HE CAME BY THE SPIRIT INTO
THE TEMPLE: AND WHEN THE PARENTS BROUGHT IN THE CHILD JESUS, TO DO FOR HIM AFTER
  THE CUSTOM OF THE LAW,
THEN TOOK HE HIM UP IN HIS
ARMS, AND BLESSED GOD, AND SAID,
     LORD, NOW LETTEST THOU THY
SERVANT DEPART IN PEACE, ACCORDING TO THY WORD:
FOR MINE EYES HAVE SEEN THY
SALVATION. Simeon looked at this baby and was absolutely positive that this
was the long promised Messiah. This is faith.

Lk 17:11-14-AND IT CAME TO PASS, AS HE (Jesus) WENT TO JERUSALEM, THAT HE PASSED
THROUGH THE MIDST OF SAMARIA AND GALILEE.
AND AS HE ENTERED INTO A CERTAIN
VILLAGE, THERE MET HIM TEN MEN THAT WERE LEPERS, WHICH STOOD AFAR OFF:
AND THEY LIFTED UP THEIR VOICES,
AND SAID, JESUS, MASTER, HAVE MERCY ON US.
AND WHEN HE SAW THEM, HE SAID
UNTO THEM, GO SHEW YOURSELVES UNTO THE PRIESTS. AND IT CAME TO PASS, THAT, AS
THEY WENT, THEY WERE CLEANSED. Note, as they obeyed what Jesus had said to do,
they were healed. They had faith to obey.
11-HE
  FOUND HIS OWN BROTHER, SIMON

Jn 1:40-41-ONE OF THE TWO WHICH HEARD JOHN SPEAK, AND FOLLOWED HIM, WAS ANDREW,
  SIMON PETER'S BROTHER.
HE FIRST FINDETH HIS OWN BROTHER
SIMON, AND SAITH UNTO HIM, WE HAVE FOUND THE MESSIAS, WHICH IS, BEING INTERPRETED,
THE CHRIST. He believed so strongly that he had to find his own brother and
tell him that they had found the Messiah. This is faith.

Jn 1:44,45-NOW PHILIP WAS OF BETHSAIDA, THE CITY OF ANDREW AND PETER.
     PHILIP FINDETH NATHANAEL, AND
SAITH UNTO HIM, WE HAVE FOUND HIM, OF WHOM MOSES IN THE LAW, AND THE PROPHETS,
DID WRITE, JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE SON OF JOSEPH. Philip went and found Nathanael
and indicated to him that they had found the Messiah. This is faith.
13-NATHANAEL
CONFESSED THAT JESUS WAS THE KING OF ISRAEL

Jn 1:46-49-AND NATHANAEL SAID UNTO HIM, CAN THERE ANY GOOD THING COME OUT OF
NAZARETH? PHILIP SAITH UNTO HIM, COME AND SEE.
     JESUS SAW NATHANAEL COMING
TO HIM, AND SAITH OF HIM, BEHOLD AN ISRAELITE INDEED, IN WHOM IS NO GUILE!
     NATHANAEL SAITH UNTO HIM, WHENCE
KNOWEST THOU ME? JESUS ANSWERED AND SAID UNTO HIM, BEFORE THAT PHILIP CALLED
THEE, WHEN THOU WAST UNDER THE FIG TREE, I SAW THEE.
     NATHANAEL ANSWERED AND SAITH
UNTO HIM, RABBI, THOU ART THE SON OF GOD; THOU ART THE KING OF ISRAEL. Nathanael
confessed that Jesus is the King of Israel. This is a demonstration of faith.
14-SIMON
PETER CONFESSES THAT JESUS IS THE CHRIST

Jn 6:68,69-THEN SIMON PETER ANSWERED HIM, LORD, TO WHOM SHALL WE GO? THOU HAST
  THE WORDS OF ETERNAL LIFE.
AND WE BELIEVE AND ARE SURE
THAT THOU ART THAT CHRIST, THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD. Multitudes of the followers
of Jesus had left Him. Simon Peter, however, confessed that he believed that
Jesus was the Christ, the Son of the Living God. His faith did not fail as did
  the others. He had faith.
15-FAITH

  Please look
up the following passages in your Bible and read them:
   Mt
1:18-24-Mary with child. Joseph obeyed the angel.

woman with an issue of blood twelve years said, if I may but touch His garment,
  I shall be whole.

no thought, how or what you shall speak when brought before counsels, kings-Gentiles.
     Mt 14:25-32-Peter began to
sink when he looked at the waves and took his eyes off Jesus. Wherefore did
  you doubt? Little faith.
     Mt 15:28; Mk 7:26-30-The woman

yourselves? Do ye not understand? Little faith.
     Mt 19:27-29-Forsake all. Behold,
  we have forsaken all.
     Mt 20:30-34-Two blind men called
Jesus for help. People tried to discourage them. They did not give up. They
  got healed by faith.
     Mt 21:1-7; Mk 11:2-7-Jesus

to go, and you shall find an ass and a colt. They obeyed by faith.
     Mt 26:18,19; Mk 14:13-16-Go,
I will keep the Passover at thy house. They went in faith.
     Mt 26:37-46-Jesus was sorrowful
and heavy, and said, "Father, let this cup pass from Me." Yet, knowing
what was to happen, He did not shrink back, even from the death of the cross.
  This is faith.
     Mt 27:57-60; 15:43; Lk 23:51-53;

servant depart in peace, according to thy Word: for mine eyes have seen thy
  salvation." This is faith.
     Lk 5:4,5-Jesus told Simon to
go out and fish, and he would get many fish. Simon answered that they had fished
all the night without success; nevertheless, at thy word I will. This is faith.
     Lk 9:12-17-About 5000 men and
other people also had nothing to eat. The disciples had said to send them away.
Jesus told then, "You give them something to eat." They didn’t understand.
He told them to have them sit down by fifties. They obeyed. This is faith.
     Jn 4:49,50-A nobleman said,
"Sir, come down ere my child die." Jesus said, "Go thy way; thy
son liveth." The man believed the Word. This is faith.
     Jn 9:1-7-Jesus made clay for
a blind man’s eyes, and said, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam."
  He obeyed. This is faith.
    2
Pe 1:5-8-AND BESIDE THIS, GIVING ALL DILIGENCE, ADD TO YOUR FAITH VIRTUE; AND
  TO VIRTUE KNOWLEDGE;
AND TO KNOWLEDGE TEMPERANCE; AND TO TEMPERANCE PATIENCE; AND TO
  PATIENCE GODLINESS;
AND TO GODLINESS BROTHERLY KINDNESS; AND TO BROTHERLY KINDNESS
  CHARITY.
FOR IF THESE THINGS BE IN YOU, AND ABOUND, THEY MAKE YOU THAT YE
SHALL NEITHER BE BARREN NOR UNFRUITFUL IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.
